Juliet Neal is the founder of West Springfield Running, providing personal coaching services and customized training plans to area runners. She is also the Program Director of the Train to Run Programs at Metro Run & Walk (formerly RunWalk Fit). These programs are designed for 5k to 10k runners of all experience levels.
Juliet began her racing journey in 2006, the year she ran her first Marine Corps Marathon with a finish time of 4:31:52. Since then, she has run a total of 12 marathons. Coach Juliet first qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:42:48 at the 2014 Marine Corps Marathon. Since then, she has qualified for the 2018 Boston Marathon with a time of 3:31:18 at the 2016 Richmond Marathon, a personal best.
In addition to the marathon distance, she has run 9 half marathons and numerous 5k, 10k, 10 mile distance races, as well as the American Odyssey Relay and Ragnar Relay, DC. After years of running and racing, Juliet became a Certified Running Coach through Road Runners Clubs of America in 2014 and founded West Springfield Running. She loves helping runners achieve new goals, whether it is a new runner's first 5k or an experienced runner trying to reach a personal best in the marathon, and everyone in between. In addition to her coaching, Juliet has founded the Turkey Trot for Parkinson's, a 5k event held on Thanksgiving to benefit the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Coach Juliet has coached girls' youth lacrosse for eight years and is a former coach with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia. She is a Certified Running Coach with Road Runners Clubs of America and a Certified Race Director. Her CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are through the American Red Cross.
